Yea like the op i purchased gw for the PvP, and thinking the other campaigns would be a more unique experience.
On gw2, the only definitive thing I can say, is that if there's no Aussie server by the time of release, I'm Definitely buying Starcraft2 and not Gw2.
I can ignore the small things that I consider design flaws in the current guild wars, but the Lack of a server where I can play competitively against other players in a competitive game isn't a compromise I'm gonna make to make to play the guild wars sequel.

Two Cents:
I won't be getting GW2, at least not right off the bat. Anything "new" these days my computer probably won't be able to handle.

I'll be buying it simply because i enjoyed the first series of games. Hopefully it will live up to its hype.

I don't make buying decisions on products that won't even exist for 2 or 3 years.
Ask me again when the question isn't ridiculous.
I'd make a comment about this thread being ancient, but even, what, 9 months later it's still a dumb question.

Pretty much in your situation except I didn't buy factions becuase I was bored out of my mind after I beat NF and Eotn
PVP doesn't really do much for me either because literally every group I'm in it's always "OMFG WHAT THE F NOOB HOLY CRAP WTAJDJASDNAJSDANDAJDAKDSANJDASDMAD" etc.

Personally, I have nothing against Guild Wars, the developers, or the recent changes. Since none of this bothers me I will probably buy, after all there are no subscriptions. Anyway I can’t wait to play Sylvari, Charr, or Asura.

I agree with the critique.
I'm unsure whether as ANET>BNET or BNET>ANET or ANET=BNET.
As for Starcraft 2. I'll also play that. I'm hoping to join the GW2 beta, so I can see if it's something for me. By what you can tell from the preview in some magazine long time ago, it's terrible.

I would also like to see considerable improvements from Anet in how they manage their community.

Well I quit GW a while ago, my PvP guild kind of left so I did to and I didn't purchase EotN due to it being quite PvE based.
But yea, I am quite looking forward to GW2. It's going to be a fresh start for me, I'm not linked my GW1 account to it at all, not even for those extra tidbits. I am however, going to make sure I get all the CE's from start to finish in GW2. I missed out on the prophecies CE and pre-order bonuses (I started about 2 weeks after release) and I regreted that a bit.
Looking forward to the beta also.

I will buy GW2. Normally, I am very cautious with buying new games, I always wait for the reviews and for friends to tell me if the game is okay.
But I am going to buy GW2 the moment it enters the store. Maybe earlier, if I can preorder. I love GW. No other game has managed to keep me hooked for 2 years (with only 2 breaks of 1 or 2 months), despite its flaws.
I just wish they would hurry up and release the damn thing

only if i try it before i buy it. furthermore, i will only do so if Anet uppen up their customer service and relations a little. Though with non-instanced gaming this should happen naturally

lol, I have very little requirement of how the game will be, and from what i read, online interviews and all, i am hoping that Guild Wars 2 will have maneuver like Assassin Creeds. Even if it doesn't, I'll still buy it lololol. I already save up for it. Just wander if I'll have time to play ...

I'll be buying it full stop. As long as ANET follow the same great model of No FEE , then I'll be there. And in all honesty GW is the greatest time killer ever created. I've also made great friends through this game, and I'm eternally grateful for it!.

Wow, knee deep in pessimism here. I'm planning on buying it for now unless as time goes on and information is released I see it's going to evolve into something I don't really want to play.
Right now I'm just imagining it's going to be like GW1 + better graphics + no lvl cap + persistant areas. Anet is being tight-lipped about it so we don't know much yet. That seems odd seeing as how it's supposed to go beta by the end of this year.
But Anet aren't dummies. They're not going to make a game that's going to flop. I'm sure it will be a success. Even if alot of the veterans move on, many new people will be roped in.

My thoughts exactly. Those here who say they aren't buying will make no difference in the success or failure of GW2.

Not buying GW2. Playing a better game, which has life like graphics, interaction and also no monthly fees.
